Sci-ROI@India’s Return2India Mentorship Program is for YOU. Sci-ROI@India Mentors will provide the guidance and mentoring you need to make a smooth transition to India and integrate seamlessly in the Indian STEM ecosystem.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
If you are a MENTOR or would like to become one, check the ‘MENTOR’ section containing guidelines and a SIGN-UP FORM.
If you are a MENTEE or would like to become one, check the ‘MENTEE’ section containing eligibility, program guidelines and a SIGN-UP FORM.
As a mentee, you can check out each mentor’s profile and schedule a 30-min mentoring session with any mentor whose background matches your profile, after signing up to become a mentee

WHO ARE THE MENTEES?
A mentee can be anyone who is –
(a) currently residing outside India and exploring their options to transition back to Indian STEM sectors,
AND/OR
(b) currently residing outside India and looking for opportunities to collaborate with STEM professionals in India,
OR
(c) returned to India in the past 2 years and in the process of integrating in Indian STEM ecosystem.

HOW CAN YOU ACCESS THE PROGRAM AS A MENTEE?
Once you have signed-up to become a mentee and signed the mentee agreement form,

Go to each mentor’s profile HERE and check out their backgrounds

If you would like to schedule meeting with a specific mentor, click on ‘SCHEDULE MENTORING SESSION’, provide your information and select a 30-min slot.
WHO ARE OUR MENTORS?
Our mentors are from diverse background ranging from being a faculty in various disciplines, to having startups, or is successfully placed at various industry and non-academic positions.
They have done their graduate and/or postdoctoral training outside India and themselves transitioned to India within the last decade.
Information on where they have studied and researched abroad, where they have settled in India, their field of expertise and what they can help guide mentees with is present for each mentor in their profile

A mentor will get the opportunity to —
(a) aspire fellow Indian nationals to return back to India,
(b) pass on their knowledge to the next generation,
(c) assist in enhancing the Indian scientific ecosystem,
(d) find potential collaborative opportunities with other STEM professionals
HOW CAN YOU BECOME A MENTOR?
You can become a mentor if —
(a) you have made a transition from abroad to India in the last 10 years
(b) you are currently independently established in a STEM based sector in India (academia, industry, non-academic sectors, start-ups, etc).
