Frequently Asked Questions

What is the benefit of applying through Sci-ROI when one can directly apply to the advertised position in the respective institution/organization/company webpage?

The positions advertised through the university’s portal may be more general and less tailored to the actual requirements of the institution. On the other hand, the job descriptions that the institutions post in the Sci-ROI’s recruitment drive are more up-to-date with the requirements of the institution and tailored to the applicants settled outside of India. Another advantage of participating in Sci-ROI’s recruitment drive is the processing of your application in a timely manner by the institution. You will first receive a definite yes or no about your application within 2 weeks. And if you are shortlisted, you will be guaranteed to have one interaction through Sci-ROI virtual platform with the institute.

What is the general procedure of the recruitment drive?

Sci-ROI collects and compiles the application materials, and directs them to the respective hiring team. They then do the shortlisting and revert to us with the list of shortlisted candidates whom we contact for one-on-one interviews. The candidates select the interview slots according to their convenience. Sci-ROI coordinates these interviews to make sure it is organized in a timely manner. Finally, the employers/ recruiters shares with us a list of selected candidates. We have the pleaser to let them know of the good news.

What is Sci-ROI’s role in the recruitment process?

First and foremost, Sci-ROI doesn’t have any hold on the hiring process. The role of Sci-ROI here is just to streamline the process and to connect the recruiters/employers to the candidates.

How long does it take to obtain an offer letter through this process?

As already mentioned, Sci-ROI is not a part of the decision-making process. The timeline after the interviews depends on the recruiters/employers.

I am unable to register or the “forgot password” is not working

If you are using your Gmail address that was used earlier in the recruitment-drive portal and you forgot the login credentials, sign up using your same Gmail address adding a period (.) or plus sign (+). This will not affect you to receive communications from the portal at your original Gmail address. For example, if the email address is “xyz@gmail.com” then modify it as “xy.z@gmail.com”.

When can I see the job description of each of the institutions?

Once you register for the recruitment drive, you will log in to the portal and will see all the participating institutions and their job descriptions. In addition, you will find the link under each institution to apply for those positions.

When is the last date of getting a confirmed list of participating institutions?

By 17th of May. You are recommended to visit the portal time-to-time until this date to look for the new institution participating in the Sci-ROI’s recruitment drive.

What to put in the “Upload summary” sub-section inside the “Profile” section of the portal?

It is meant to be a summary of your career (e.g., a summary of scientific contributions). It is not a required field. Note that this is simply for your Sci-ROI profile page and not an application form. Collecting this basic information helps us stick to the event timeline in instances where the recruiter realizes that they had forgotten to request key information (like a summary of scientific contributions) in their individual application forms.

After submitting my CV and summary to the profile inside the recruitment drive portal, do I need to apply for each institution individually?

Yes, you will need to apply for positions you are interested in from the list of opening available as part of the recruitment drive.
