Welcome to another captivating episode of Sci-ROI’s podcast series on ‘Beyond Academia’ stories. In this episode, we shine a spotlight on Dr. Jayita Patwari, currently serving as an Associate Editor at Wiley. Dr. Patwari shares her journey of transition from academia to the world of science publication. She obtained her Ph.D. in 2020 in an interdisciplinary domain spanning spectroscopy and nanoscience at the S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences in Kolkata. Following this, she worked as a post-doctoral fellow jointly at Ruhr University, Bochum and the University of Duisburg, Essen in Germany.

Sci-ROI organized a virtual annual event for 2020 (YIM-V). Building on our past years’ success, YIM-V was aimed at introducing a diverse range of post Ph.D. career options in India to our participants, who were then engaged in research activities outside India. Along with a great line-up of speakers from the traditional career path in academia and industry, speakers from from tech entrepreneurship, research management, science communication, science policy, and patent law were also invited.
