Jyotsna Kalathera completed her Integrated Master’s degree at the Central University of Tamil Nadu and earned her Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Her primary research focus was microbial social evolution, using Myxococcus xanthus as a model organism. She studied how population bottlenecks influence the evolution of multisocial traits across organismal life cycles. In 2017, she was one of the participants in the prestigious Indo-US Khorana program for scholars.
