Rochish Madhukar Thaokar

Dr. Thaokar is a Professor in the department of Chemical Engineering at IIT-Bombay. He works in the area of fluid mechanics and soft matter systems. His group uses analytical theory, experimental methods and numerical solutions to solve problems in the area of electrohydrodynamics of drops, capsules, vesicles and biological cells. The endevor is to understand the intricate physics of electrohydrodynamics and fluid-structure interaction.
He did his BTech from LIT Nagpur in 1995 and ME from IISc, Bangalore in 1997. After that, he completed his PhD from IISc Bangalore and moved for a Post doc at MPIP, Mainz in 2004. He joined IITB as an associate Professor in 2005.
