I am a neuroscientist by training and currently work on understanding how brain connections change with experience. Changes in the neuronal connections are the basis of learning and remembering new information. I specifically work in the brain region called hippocampus and look into the neuronal connection changes that occur during spatial navigation. I learned about Sci-ROI when I attended one of the annual events during my PhD in Chicago and was fascinated with the unfiltered discussions between directors of the top Indian institutes and researchers in the USA about diverse topics like science policies, job opportunities and entrepreneurship support. Since then I have always been a member and have followed amazing new initiatives Sci-ROI brings every year. This year I joined Sci-ROI as a volunteer in Feb 2021. My primary role so far is to help with the monthly newsletter and to help with the blogs on the Sci-ROI website. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with this exceptional team to organize various workshops and events all year round.
