Job Portal, Slack, Industrial outreach at Sci-ROI
I am a fourth-year graduate student at University of Minnesota. Although I am affiliated to the department of chemistry, my research lies at the interface of chemical biology, biophysics, and biochemistry. Specifically, I am trying to structurally probe the biological mechanisms of an epigenetic protein, BRD4, focussing on the downstream regulation of epigenetic gene transcription. One of my colleagues told me about Sci-ROI in 2020 and so I became a member and attended the annual event. I would regularly follow their updates via monthly newsletter, website and social media feeds. When the volunteer call came out, I immediately made up my mind to join the team of wonderful and like-minded people. I officially joined Sci-ROI in 2021 and have been responsible for managing Sci-ROI’s official Slack account, updating the job portal and industrial outreach. It has been a very satisfying experience so far and I am excited to see how it goes in the coming months.
