I earned my Ph.D. in Evolutionary Biology from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali, where I studied life-history evolution under environmental stress using Drosophila as a model system. I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at Florida International University, where I investigate how mating systems (selfing vs. outcrossing) influence genomic resilience under mutagenic stress in Caenorhabditis elegans.

My research integrates experimental evolution, population genomics, structural variant analysis, and forward-time simulations to understand how recombination, stress, and genome architecture interact to shape mutation purging and adaptation. My long-term goal is to establish an interdisciplinary research program in evolutionary genomics that bridges experimental biology and computational modeling to address fundamental questions about the maintenance of sex and genome stability.
